Come one, come all! Participate in the Summer Reading Club! The goal here is for people to put down the remote and get to reading. You know, close your laptop and... Hold, on, dog. I didn't say nothing about closin' my laptop. Oh, yeah. It's an ONLINE reading club so you have to be on your computer! We'll deal with that addiction some other time. Yeah, that's it.
Basically, there are three things that are going to take place.
- You are going to read a bunch of books. Anything you choose. Preferably books that hold your interest, because the goal is to read a bunch of them!
- Every Friday (starting the 13th), post a list of what you've read on your blog. We'll do one of those Mr. Linky things to keep track of it. (Anybody who knows how to make Mr. Linky play nice with Typepad, I'm all ears...)
- Post reviews of your books on your blog. Maybe on Mondays (starting the 16th) we can do a MONDAY MASHUP where everybody links to their reviews. We'll see how that goes.
Later in the summer, there will be a prize given out. As the sole dictator of the SRC, I will decide what the prize is and how it will be judged.
WHOOOPSHHHH!!! That's the sound of the whip crackin'!
Ding ding ding ding ding! That's the SRC bell goin' off!
HERRERRR WHOOP! WHOOP! That's my car alarm going off in the parking lot. Competely unrelated.
Where was I? Oh yeah. Summer Reading Club. LET"S GET TO READING!
(As hard as I try, there just isn't a cool way to say that!)

1) You are insane.
2) I'm totally in.

Reading IS cool! What're you talkin' 'bout: no cool way to say that?! ;)
Sounds like fun.
I think I might have to be with Wendy with the children's books though, with our 3-year old. ;)
I'm always looking for good/different books, so I'll be checking back!
Awesome idea!

Steven had a great idea that would kind of go with the book club...

I need to get links onto my Tumblr blog, since that is what I use now. Not sure how that would work. I'll play around with layouts to see what I can get. This sounds like fun!

The first paragraph seriously caused me to LOL :)
I am currently reading The Pilgrim's Regress. I'll have to try to finish it now so I can review.
I read The Shack a few months ago. Good book, makes you think outside the box a lot. :)
I guess I should find all those books recommended that I've been wanting to read and make a list so I can get started. :)
