I love identity...

julianne

No, no, no. That's not it at all. Well, maybe that could be it.

Steven

That theory makes sense, someone trying to get people to come to the island by brodcasting the coordinates.

Glenn

We're still trawling through season 1 over here in the UK...

But, yeah, I've seen "Identity"... it freaked me out. :) An interesting theory for "Lost", Mark...

Or perhaps "The Village"...

Adam R

Season 1 and what has been seen of season 2 is available on iTunes (the new ver.6)!!

Kara

So they have jobs now?

Corrine

Diane said: "I thought it was just another pretty boy, pretty girl on an island thing."

Well, there is that, too.

I haven't seen Identity, but my son told me what it was about. Sounds plausible. I'll have to rent it and see for myself. Might give me some more ideas.

Gotta go. It's on! :)

Diane aka Yippy

I had no idea that LOST was so mentally stimulating. I thought it was just another pretty boy, pretty girl on an island thing. I'll have to watch the first season DVDs and catch up with you all.

Lori

hooray!! there are several LOST podcasts up and available now. they are all updated weekly

Kara

Oh goodness you two are nuts!

MarkLee

Have you ever seen the movie "Identity"? I don't want to give anything about the movie away, but I wouldn't be surprised if Lost didn't have a similar plot.

Kind of lines up with your theory.

Corrine

Well, that's certainly possible. But we already know they are on an island near Australia. It doesn't help us figure out why.

I'm trying to figure out the Dharma/Swan angle. It's very interesting. According to Wikipedia.com, Dharma has to do with "a conformity to a divine or creative principle at work in an individual and in nature. It represents the individual's internal law, to which obedience must be given if that individual life is to live in accordance with a Divine Will."

And the Swan, according to Druidry.org the Swan oracle means “accept your ability to know what lies ahead, pay attention to your hunches, gut knowledge, and female intuitive side.” (Locke's been doing that all along.) In Celtic lore, "a swan can be a symbol of transformation. Swan often indicates a soul level experience about to commence."

That all seems to be saying that the Losties need to learn to listen to the voices on the inside of themselves, maybe to listen to their hearts, if they are going to live the lives they were meant to live. Seems like they are all going through some personal battle.

(Personally, at this point, I think they may not actually be on the island, at least not in the way they think they are. I think they are all in a clinic in somewhere, participating in some kind of therapy, willingly or unwillingly.)

    What's in my CD player

    • R.E.M. -

      R.E.M.: Accelerate CD/DVD
Athens' own return with a trashy cool offering - their most consistent album in years. I think they're mad at their dad or something (****)

    • The Rolling Stones -

The Rolling Stones: Shine a Light: Original Soundtrack
This is what a live album SHOULD sound like. Unedited, unfixed - just a good recording of what happened that night... (****)

    • Mudcrutch -

      Mudcrutch: Mudcrutch
Tom Petty and Mike Campbell reunite with their old band and forge an instant classic. (****)

    • Counting Crows -

Counting Crows: Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings
It was pretty gutsy to lay it out the way they did: all the rockers on the "Saturday Night" section and all the ballads on the "Sunday Morning" side. But it works, and in a major way. Some of the best guitar work I've heard in recent memory. (*****)

    • The Black Crowes -

The Black Crowes: The Lost Crowes
WHY DIDN'T ANYBODY TELL ME ABOUT THIS RECORD?! You've heard most of these songs on other records, but it's just so raw and band-y here. Fall in love with the best band in the world all over again... (*****)

    • Pillar -

Pillar: For The Love Of The Game
So far this is the album to beat for the rock album of 2008 in the Christian market... The title track has kind of been my "theme song" the last couple of months. (*****)

    • Maylene and the Sons of Disaster -

Maylene and the Sons of Disaster: II
The perfect blend of Southern rock and metal - this is my favorite album right now. (*****)

    • Kevn Kinney -

Kevn Kinney: Broken Hearts & Auto Parts
I picked this up in Athens the other day. It starts out a little slow, but turns into vintage Kevn Kinney/Drivin n Cryin. This is as good as anything he/they have ever put out! (****)

    • The Black Crowes -

      The Black Crowes: Warpaint
If you look up "killer" in the dictionary, you will find a picture of these guys.

    • Baroness -

      Baroness: Red Album
So far the most original and inspiring music I've heard this year... (*****)

    • Down -

Down: Down - Over The Under
This is easily the most rockin' records I've ever owned. It's like redneck Soundgarden. Heaven for a dude like me... (*****)

    • Demon Hunter -

Demon Hunter: Storm the Gates of Hell
Don't let the "metalcore" label fool you. This album features some of the biggest and hookiest choruses you'll ever hear. "Lead Us Home", "Carry Me Down", and "Thorns" are great examples. Plus I think they'll give you your money back if the title track doesn't make your ears bleed :) (*****)
